However, many buyers experience adhesive residue or film lifting due to incorrect adhesion level selection. Understanding adhesion levels is the first step to choosing the right product. Adhesion levels are typically categorized as micro-tack, low-tack, medium-tack, high-tack, and extra-high tack.
For smooth, high-gloss surfaces like stainless steel or mirror-finished aluminum, micro-tack or low-tack films are often ideal, providing sufficient grip while ensuring residue-free removal. For slightly textured surfaces or for deeper processing like stamping on galvanized sheets, medium-tack films ensure the film does not lift or peel off during bending and cutting.
Don't only focus on adhesion values. The substrate (PE) and adhesive type (water-based, solvent-based, or silicone-based) are equally important. We recommend conducting a sample test before bulk orders. Test the film on your actual metal surface to ensure it meets the dual standard of "no residue" and "firm adhesion."
